DUS Dental-U
Inc. is the amalgamation of two Western Canadian dental wholesale
suppliers, Elite Dental Supply Company Ltd. (1985) and Dentrium (1995).
Ross McCutcheon, the principle DUS Dental-U Inc., was
originally an employee of Degussa Canada Ltd. Dentrium was the outcome
of corporate restructuring by Degussa Corporation in 1995. Degussa
Corporation took over responsibility for the North American operations
of Degussa AG.-Dental Division. Mr. McCutcheon maintained
a formal contract with Degussa~Ney Inc., the dental business arm of
the Degussa Corporation. A share interest of 64.2% is held in Degussa
AG by Eon AG (www.Eon.com).
On May
30, 2001 Degussa AG entered into an agreement to sell its dental operations
to U.S. based DENTSPLY International Inc., changing the Degussa name to DeguDent and absorbing this business into Dentsply Canada’s operations in 2005. For their part, Dental-U has moved beyond the role of exclusive distributor, adapting to a traditional dental supply business.
DUS Dental-U Inc. wholesales three primary groups
of products: dental alloys, equipment and dental porcelains.
In 1998 approximately 100 dental
companies products became available through the purchase of Elite Dental Supply Company Ltd. This vast range of products is sold to all dental offices. Dental-U's principal, Ross McCutcheon is also the regional agent for KaVo Canada's Laboratory division, including the exciting KaVo Everest CAD/CAM system www.kavo-everest.com.
As a leader in the dental industry, the role of continuing dental education is enhanced by DUS Dental-U Inc. and its representatives. KaVo Canada, a provider of dental equipment, has supported this education process by aiding in simulating dental facilities.
